Definitely flowers in a basket, and the reeds of a real basket couldn't look any better than your unmatched stripes. I agree with Tonya, it looks great to me!
I didn't even notice till you mentioned it. I wouldn't know if I have the grace to line up stripes (though I doubt it) because I KNOW I haven't got the patience!!
Gene, I like your block and the stripes look fine with me! I think it was either Marianne Fons or Liz Porter who said, referring to her use of plaids, that the way she handled the alignment was to "not worry about it!"
I think the basket is cute. I don't think stripes need to be perfectly lined up. The turned corner is folksy and adds interest.

I like using stripes because they always add interest. I really think your block is cute!

ReplyDeleteI like that turned striped corner, too. Stripes are tricky, though......as well as many directional print fabrics!
