An oldie

No I don't mean me.  Ha ha.  But I guess I qualify also. Having been sick for the last few days I really haven't made or sewn anything else.  I am headed back to work today.  I hope I make it through the day.
Meanwhile, here is a picture of a quilt I made for a special friend. It is very scrappy.  I used up some string blocks I had made and some orphan blocks. Then I did some "free pieced" blocks  - what I call making fabric from scraps.
Have you ever made a quilt that used up such a variety of  your scraps?

  3. Seems like you've been ailing for a while, Gene! I hope you feel better by the end of the day, work and all! Love that quilt. I have some orphan blocks I should try that with, who knows where it might lead!

Your quilt is definitely awesome. =) I make "free-pieced" blocks a lot. It's my leader-ender project the majority of the time. I call them beepie blocks (bp - bits and pieces), but it's the same idea. Here are links to two of my favorites. one and two

  13. I have to admit I have only done one true scrap quilt and it was the bottled rainbows quilt. I love your quilt. The beauty of scraps is that the quilt is 100% unique in every way. Glad to hear you are feeling better!
