A New Project and a Video
As you know, I have added inkle band weaving to my repertoire. My video guy said "You need to do a video on how you do that." So here is the video showing the band I am now weaving.

ReplyDeleteExcellent video, Gene! So good, that I am certain this isn't for my hands. Watching you struggle did it. I can picture me in a cartoon struggling with inkle yarn everywhere! Lol
ReplyDeleteSeriously, your video guy was right, and he is very good! Together you make it look easy. I'm happy to learn about this but realistic about me doing it. I'll let you do it for both of us. ;)

ReplyDeleteLove it, Gene! Brings back childhood memories of the little looms we used to make jewelry. I had forgotten the lovely small pieces my grandfather used to weave. His loom was fascinating to a 7 year old and I don't recall ever seeing anyone else using it. Thanks for a great video and the recovery of a cherished memory. You are a constant source of inspiration!

Fascinating!! You and your video guy make the BEST videos - very clear and concise. I can see where it would be very relaxing - but I'm with Barbara - "I'm certain this is not for my hands" - and - "I'll let you do it for both of us." - ;))

ReplyDeleteYour selvedges look great Gene. That's a part of Inkle weaving that I often struggle with. I was taught to Inkle weave, including dressing the loom, when I was 11 years old. I only use the skill occasionally, usually to make straps for bags, but I taught one of my granddaughters when she was only 6 and she did remarkably well! She even won a ribbon at the fall fair though other entries in the category were by teenagers.
