Now, to layer that third of the quilt and get it quilted - that is what I need to do. (well, maybe iron this first ha ha.) Then there are two more sections. I could be at this for a while!

That is a lot of piecing for the back. You almost had a whole separate quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love piecing on the back of a quilt and it is a great way to use up some of the stash!
ReplyDeleteI don't typically focus on backings unless it is an important gift. Otherwise, orphan blocks and any fabric at all is a great choice in my book. I do stop myself if the back is actually too ugly in my book...but that's not usual...LOL

I like to call it "Back Art". :)
ReplyDeleteI have a fall quilt that has a back that is, to me, as good as the front, so it doesn't matter which side is showing! I only like plain backs if I am having some spectacular, custom, long-arm quilting done and want that to be showcased nicely on the back.
