Gorgeous! I said the same about your scarves, but I think weaving this way has allowed the artist inside to really break free. I like suemac's comment about quilting with yarn. I think of it as a sort of thread painting. Actually, I can see scarves made ike this too. I haven't tried the interlock warp yet, but your video helped way more than the link you sent..so I'll be trying it on my next piece. The one I just finished with my own method will go into my blog soon, but the interlock method is so much cleaner!
Beautiful job Gene. I especially like that you can work bits of fabric into your weaving. And since you quilt, it's a good way to use those bits that we would normally toss in the trash!
Oh my goodness! That is amazing -- I think it's my favorite that you've done. I love the colors, Gene. Great work!
ReplyDeleteArt quilting with yarn instead of fabric.

ReplyDeleteYour talent is fantastic, love the colors and it does remind me of a landscape too. Have a great day. Hugs, Marie
ReplyDeleteOh yes!! Do a landscape, that would be so cool. I know you can do it.
ReplyDeleteThat is nice-does look like a desert landscape. A really great effect.
ReplyDeleteOh that turned out so nice...I'd definitely hang it on the wall...love the colors.
