Homage to Frida

After finishing Mr Mondrian,  I had a great idea to use the same AI prompts to create a similar work based on an image of Frida Kahlo.  Here is the face that the AI program (Night Cafe) provided.

So I created my pieced background for the quilt and cut out the black silhouette to begin.
Some of you may notice that the background colors and shapes are a bit different.
I am taking artistic license as I create these.

Oh Gene when I saw the AI of Frida it took my breath away. This is her, this is her spirit. I absolutely love this. I am so looking forward to seeing your piece finished. Brilliant idea. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a great weekend.

Hi, Gene! I'm sorry that I haven't been around in a while. It's been a crazy summer for us. The Frida Kahlo image is striking. I hope you show us the finished quilt. I bet it will be gorgeous! I only learned about Kahlo about a year ago. A painting of her showed up in our nearby Mexican restaurant. The painting was so compelling that I asked our waitress about it. And it turned out that she had painted it as a reproduction of the original. I went home, did some sleuthing, and found the original and the artist Frida Kahlo. Our waitress Yvonne had created a perfect copy. I always pushed Yvonne to paint because she is very talented. And she always pushed me about my writing. I was sad when she began working somewhere else. Have a great weekend!
