FFO Self Portrait

Nicole at  DVArtist has challenged readers to create a self portrait. While I didn’t create a new one, I am sharing a few that I have created in the past.

My first was a stamp (and my apologies, I don’t have the original photo)

This is the actual stamp, when stamped, it is a mirror image
While I was pleased with this one, I knew I could do better.
So a second stamp was made using a different photo
Much better!
This was used as the basis of a couple of embroideries that I digitized for my embroidery machine.
And finally, I used this photo as the basis for a digital drawing
A photo of me taken from a television commercial that I acted in

That became this drawing.
So, there are some of my self portraits for the Friday Face Off

And just for fun a couple, of AI photos I did using the AI on my phone

Ha ha, I do work out but I am not that buff, and I don’t have a tattoo.

Smile - it is Friday!

Last week, Tom said that Frida looks sad.  Yes she does.  I think Frida hid a lot of pain.
"Frida Kahlo had multiple physical disabilities resulting from childhood polio and a devastating bus accident at age 18 that caused severe injuries to her spine, pelvis, and leg. These conditions led to lifelong chronic pain, numerous surgeries (up to 30), and a leg amputation late in her life. Her physical struggles and pain significantly influenced her art, which often openly depicted her body, suffering, and medical devices like corsets."

So today for the Friday Face Off, I am using a new AI image I created of Frida Smiling.

FFO - Frida Finished

Welcome to my stop on the Friday Face Off.     I have finished quilting Frida and have the border on this small art quilt.   All that is left to do is mount it on an artist canvas for hanging.

I present ----Frida!

And I have another AI art piece to share with you.  I call him

Bio L.  Bill

I am sure that Nicole, our host for the Friday Face Off will love him.

Happy Friday.

More on Frida

The art quilt I am making based on my AI image of Frida Kahlo is coming along.
I have it layered with backing and batting.  The first stage of quilting is completed.  This was done with black thread, so it is barely noticeable on the front. but here is a photo of the back side.
Even though it is black on black,  the lighting allows you to see it quite well.

You may notice a strange bit of quilting on the left hand side of the back.
Let me explain, first with a photo.
I did some free-motion quilting of my signature. So for that section I will just use echoing lines to fill in the rectangular area.

Then it was time to choose threads for all of the other quilting.  Seventeen different colors will be enough, I hope.
I may use all of them, only some of them, or I may add more color choices as I go.
That will depend entirely on how I feel at the moment.

Here is a photo of just the piece after the black quilting.
It is hardly noticeable on the front.

One thing I realized as I was choosing threads is that I have a limited number of brown threads.  I think I may need more variety there.
But seriously, I do NOT need to buy more thread.

Some Progress

I have made some progress on Frida.  However, I still need to make a few adjustments before I layer the quilt with backing and batting.  Then there will be some adjustments that I make with the quilting.
These pieces require quite a bit of intense time to work on, so when I finish this one I will probably work on a much easier project next.

And here are a couple of AI art pieces that I have generated.
I loved the last one I made of Einstein as an artist that I had to do a second one.

I call this one Seeking the Mushroom King.

Linking up to the Friday Face Off.
