A Little Progress

The Mondrian based face quilt is slo-o-o-o-owly progressing.  I have been busy with other things and haven't spent a lot of time on it.
Here is where it stands at the moment.  I left the "cut off part of the face" in so that you can see what goes in that black space.

Here it is with that cut off part over the black
I have been tempted to try printing that on fabric and just using it as one piece.
Ha ha.  But rather, I will finish it eventually.

Here is another face just so you aren't looking at only unfinished work.
I created this one in AI - much like the original that is becoming a quitl.
This one will NOT become a quilt.

I am linking to the Friday Face Off.

The Face Quilt..... Progress - slow but progress

I have been moving along slowly with the face quilt that I am making from one of my AI artworks.  It is quite time consuming to cut out the rather small pieces and fit them onto the background.

I confess that it looks a little sloppy right now, but that is part of the process...... Hopefully, this ugly duckling will become a beautiful swan

The photo is our of square, but the quilt should work out nearly square.
There are a few things that I will "fix" with the quilting.
I do love that he is starting to develop some dimension.
I think that this may be the most complex face I have attempted.

I am linking with Nicole for the Friday Face Off for this week.
I think this should count as a "face" even though it is only part of one, so far.

Well, just to be sure here is one I created with AI on Night Cafe.

FYI,  I consider this one a FAIL because I asked specifically for "clean shaven"

Sewing a Face (and some AI art)

One of my AI artworks is being used as an inspiration for an art quilt.   I am excited to see it coming along.  I spent part of yesterday evening creating the background.
It isn't perfect but it will look great when it is finished, I think.
A few days ago, I had cut out the head shape from black fabric.  There is a lot of black in the head/face of this so I decided that I would applique the colored parts over it rather than try to sew tiny pieces.
The pin tells me which side goes up.

I used a paper template to cut out the shape.
I think it worked out pretty well, so far.
Here is the original piece:

Some of those colors will likely be changed in the final work.

Now a new AI piece for the Friday Face Off
This one will NOT become a quilt because there are far too many tiny pieces.

Happy Friday.

A couple more AI pieces

Here  are a couple of images that I created using AI on Night Cafe. If you are interested in trying this, you can use my referral link. Gene’s Referral Link.

First up is a Trio I created. I asked for the style of Kandinsky, I don’t think this seems a lot like Kandinsky.

Next is an image that I created using AI that I am thinking of using as the inspiration for a quilt.

I think that he would fit nicely in my gallery of quilted faces.
