The unquilted part in the center is the negative space. What shape (if any) do you see formed by that space? C'mon, speak up!
I am waiting to hear your response. That is how I will know if I got it right- or at least close.
And just so you know, that square is just under four inches.
I would have gotten more quilted but we had a couple of rounds of thunderstorms that I had to wait out. Then it was well after my bedtime when I finished.

a star which looks great.
I'm focused on your perfect pebbles more than the star!
Nice job Gene! I like that negative space star. It really pops.
Under four inches? That's pretty small - you certainly fit a lot in there!
what a cool technique, love your star Gene
You are a star Gene for mastering those pebbles!
Unbelievable. Not only is the FMQ expertly done, but it has been maneuvered to create something else. I'm exhausted by your accomplishments!
I see your star - and raise you some pebbles - haha. Your star looks SO much better than mine - I need a LOT more practice. Don't you just LOVE her class? I know you got her "Wild Quilting" class - but did you get her second one - "Secrets of FMQ"? She has a lot of VERY cool designs in that one - ;))
It's a star and the points of the star are, to me, perfect!!! Cool!
Looks awesome!!
