After reading the nice comments from my post last night, I decided that I needed to do some more quilting on the "practice pad" and see what I could do with it.
So I sat down and started playing. I added a few lines, I did part of a feather and just let myself go.
Then I trimmed it down to cut off the part where the thread problems happened last evening.
So this is roughly 10 by 11 inches. Now I really like it a lot. There is some lovely testure in the piece. So what can I do with a piece that size? I am open to ideas.
Now about that Birthday Surprise. Did you know that Craftsy is turning 5 years old this month? As part of the celebration, they are having a big sale on some of their best selling kits and supplies.
How about some fabric?
Or perhaps some yarn?
I suggest you go soon as theses sales always have items that sell out.

Happy Birthday Craftsy!! - ;)) I LOVE your practice pad!! At roughly 10 x 11 I think it's a little too small for a placemat and a bit big for a mug rug - so why not mount it like you did your other art piece and call if "BEFORE"? Then next year make another one just like it and call it "AFTER" - just for fun - to see the difference a year's worth of practice can make - ;))
perhaps use for a hot pad on the table if it is thick enough
Your quilting is really looking great!
How about putting a colorful binding on it and then pinching the corners together with a few stitches to make a tray.
