Sewing for My Home
There isn't a lot to say about this, but I did decide I needed new pillowcases so I raided my fabric stash. I really liked both the look and feel of the print fabric that I used for the main body of the pillowcases. I chose a green fabric that has a suede appearance for the cuff. I decided that I should have made the cuff a bit longer, but c'est la vie! Done is better than perfect.
I made two and they are now on the pillows on my bed. Since my sheets are a very pale green, I think these are just great. Plus, the other sheets that go on this bed are white, so they will work with those also.

Very nice! - It's amazing what a little change like that can make to the look of the whole room - one of the wonderful perks of being a quilter with a fabric stash - ;))
I have never made a pillowcase and it is really a great idea-you'll enjoy them for sure

This is a perfect way to refresh your bed. I love the contrast of the cuff. You've just given me some ideas. :)
Pillowcases are a good charity project as well, especially in prints for children, then donated for those in hospitals. I love your fabrics, Gene.
Oh for Heaven's sake Gene! Now you've gone too far. That's just setting the bar way too high for the likes of me. Heh. ;-)
I think our homemade pillowcases are much softer than purchased sheet sets or will be once you've used them a bit. Good that you can put your sewing skills to use to brighten up your home.
