I played the hapless Mister Hilltop. |
As Mr. Hilltop, I got the knee twice a showing - allowing me to make faces and act like I was in pain. The hospital gown was a bit large for me - just to make it a bit more comical. The sock garters were my own creation made of simple elastic and a couple of inexpensive suspender clips.
I was also a Romanian villager in many of the scenes.
One of the most fun numbers - although the hardest to learn- was "Join the Family Business." Where we, the dead ancestors, are convincing Young Frankenstein to embrace his heritage and make a monster. I am in the photo but I have on a mad scientist wig. (Good luck spotting me!)
We had so much fun bringing this show to life. I am happy to have done it. But I will also be happy to return somewhat to my normal routine.

Love the photos!! I can't really tell for sure - and the photos don't enlarge when I click on them - so I'll take a wild guess and say that - in the last photo - you are the one in the blue shirt on the right. Now that you have had your FUN - you need to REST your weary bones - until next time - ;))
No, wait - it looks like "blue shirt" is wearing a skirt - that can't be you! Second guess - you're #5 from the left - ;))
LOL....fourth from the right! You look like you were the perfect patient! So glad you enjoyed the production.
You do look hapless! What fun, thanks for the smiles!
The play was a hoot for the audience too. Glad we got to go see you and the CAST performance. I loved hearing the classic lines from the movie like "Hump? What Hump?" And of course, the off stage operatic " Sweet Mystery of Life" followed by a post coital cigarette. Charles DID pop his suspenders over that. It takes a lot to get him to belly laugh like he was doing. I thought your sock garters were a cool touch, Gene!!
It looks like you all had a great time!
I'm guessing you were fourth from the right. It looks like you enjoyed it. I wish I lived closer and could have watched the performance in person.
It sounds like fun, I see others wished they could have seen it too. Catch you breath, settle back into a regular routine. Well not too routine as to be boring. But then I can't see you doing that anyway. 8-)
It sounds like you had a splendid time. Wish I could have seen it. I am glad you enjoyed it even though it was a lot of hard work. Was there a full audience? (I think you are the 5th one from the left.
I wish I could have seen it...sounds like you had a lot of fun
