Since I will be going to a "weaving day" with a lot of friends soon, I needed to put a new warp on my loom. I decided that LOTS of color was a good idea. Then I can weave with every color there is. When we gather to weave, I may do a section in rainbow color. For now, I did a bit of weaving to get it started.
There is a sewing project in the works, but I am "making it up as I go," so I haven't taken photos.
Edited to add: Jennifer asked "What is a warp?" Here is my reply to her.
A warp is the set of threads that run from one end of the cloth to the other. The selvedge edges are the direction of the warp threads. The threads that run from side to side (selvedge to selvedge) are the weft threads.
To weave you start with the warp on the loom and then add the weft threads.

Hi Gene, I too just got the weaving Bug and my ridge heddle loom will be here tomorrow! Am so looking forward to it and have been reading your blog and watching videos. The problem I'm having is finding the proper yarn locally. I want to start a kitchen towel. Any suggestions?
