The Face Quilt..... Progress - slow but progress

I have been moving along slowly with the face quilt that I am making from one of my AI artworks.  It is quite time consuming to cut out the rather small pieces and fit them onto the background.

I confess that it looks a little sloppy right now, but that is part of the process...... Hopefully, this ugly duckling will become a beautiful swan

The photo is our of square, but the quilt should work out nearly square.
There are a few things that I will "fix" with the quilting.
I do love that he is starting to develop some dimension.
I think that this may be the most complex face I have attempted.

I am linking with Nicole for the Friday Face Off for this week.
I think this should count as a "face" even though it is only part of one, so far.

Well, just to be sure here is one I created with AI on Night Cafe.

FYI,  I consider this one a FAIL because I asked specifically for "clean shaven"

Sometimes the most beautiful swans start out as the messiest ducklings

I don't think it's sloppy at all. In fact, it's really interesting at this stage, It looks great Gene. Have a super weekend.

The dolphins look clean shaven. Your quilt is coming along...it may be slow but I imagine it is an enjoyable process.

You are daft my friend. This does not look sloppy at all. I love the black on this face with all the other colors. You are so good at AI. I try to heart all of your AI. It gives both of us credits. So be sure to heart mine too. LOL I wish we lived closer, we would have so much art fun.

The quilt is looking quite striking already.

Why do you say it's sloppy? I don't think it's sloppy at all. To me it looks detailed and precise - and like a lot of work. I'm not sure I'd have the patience for it.

That quilt you're working on with the cubist portrait is going to be spectacular. I haven't done much with AI, except for the portrait I use for my profile picture, which I did on my Mac's Image Playground. Happy FFO!
