FFO Mishmash

This has been an interesting week.  Caregiving is not for the weak/timid soul.  It is a paradox of both rough and rewarding.   It also takes a lot of time.  Hence, I have nothing new to share.  But, I did find that Mom had kept an old drawing that I had forgotten doing.  The paper is showing some age - yellowing and brown spots.  It is signed "E B" - which means it was done years ago. ("E" for Eugene)

Now here is a photo of me and a couple of other guys, backstage when I was doing a play.
The Play was "Anything Goes"  I was a passenger and these guys were crew on the ship.

And from travel, here is a photo I took in a museum in Mexico

Happy Friday

That is so sweet that your Mom kept that drawing you shared today. We lost my husband's Mom last month and for quite a while there was a lot of care taking going on there too. Have a wonderful Friday and weekend ahead Gene.

My Mom is 90 years old, but I live about 7 hours from her. She lives with my aunt, who helps care for her. My brother lives about 15 minutes from their house, so he looks out for them. We're not sure how much longer this arrangement will be possible, since it's been getting difficult for my aunt, so we're looking into a new arrangement. (I love that your mom kept that portrait you did years ago!)

Lovely that your mom kept your drawing. I have so many drawings that I have kept of my daughters drawings. Wonderful that you did a play! I love plays and I was in the community play "The Music Man" it was fun. Have a lovely Friday and a wonderful weekend! Happy FFO!

I also understand how you feel about taking care of elderly. I had to take care of my dad and it was so emotional and challenging. Stay strong and I found that Love helped me through it and also ask for help from people around you. Doing things alone is very challenging. Praying for you and your loved ones.

Love that "EB" piece of art, Gene. You've always had talent. I can't imagine how hard it is to be a caregiver. It is so wonderful that you are willing and able to care for our mom.
