Post 125 - the Magic number

Those who have been reading my blog for a while know that I let post 100 slip by me. So I decided that post 125 would be my celebration. This post IS number 125. It doesn’t seem that long ago that I started my art blog. But anyway, here we are. I am glad you are with me. I hope you stay for the ride.

Now, as my part of this celebration, I am giving away a prize package. Included in the package will be a 5 by 7 inch journal in a quilted cover. I made the cover and quilted it myself. The journal has blank pages with no lines. So it could be an art/drawing/ sketching journal. Or maybe you would use it as a diary.

In addition to the journal, I am including a pendant that I designed and made from polymer clay. I carved a rubber stamp and used it to create the impression on the front of the pendant. The color did not seem to photograph well. The pendant is a muted purple with accents of iridescent bronze.

I'm here...I'm here....I waited all night outside in a tent in the cold to be first in line!!!! :)

Now...I only discovered your blog recently and have looked over a lot of your posts, but there are two that stick out in my mind so far......the party doll you made for your niece and the post in which you displayed the bracelets (which were beautiful) on the black pipe. GREAT idea to show them that way.

I am going to put a link to your blog on my post but it won't show up for a few days (probably on Jan. 18) as my next two days' blogs are already typed up and scheduled. I'll let you know when your giveaway and blog are mentioned on mine, okay?

For now, I'm just SO glad to be let in out of the cold to toss my hat into the ring for this really nice giveaway you are having. Happy 125th to you...and MANY more!!! :)

My favorite post is the picture of your niece wrapped in the quilt you made for her. That is what making things for loved ones is all about, seeing the joy in their expressions.

Happy 125 post! Aren't you glad it is not 125 months or years!!

Congrats on reaching this milestone! I always enjoy seeing what you create with your EQ program. Since I don't have it and have never used it, I am always interested in seeing what people create with it. All the best!

Okay, Gene....I now get TWO entries as today I have a post about your blog and your giveaway on my blog! (Sent you an email about that but I'm getting error messages and bounce-backs saying my emails aren't going through to you....so I figured I'd post on here, too, just to be on the safe side.)

First, congrats on 125 posts! I came over from Pat's blog...

I found two posts to be really interesting...the one about the birds and yo-yos - I did not realize that making a quilt out of yo-yos would really be warm.

The other post was about all the birds feeding...Having moved to New England, I am finding myself looking a birds differently than when I lived in FL

This is the first time I have been to your blog but I really love your dragon. Quilting is my medium but I tried p. clay once: it was awful. I have no artistic talent but I am creative. I also am in AL where it has been very, very cold. Congrats on 125.

I just found you too- but find you are very creative- this article on http://artbygene.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2007-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-06%3A00&updated-max=2008-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-06%3A00&max-results=22 vase reimagined was my favorite-- using the imagination...and love how beautiful all your work is- unique and imaginative.

I love quilting and grew up with quilters but the fact is I will never be as good as them- it skipped a generation..thats cool becuase I can cook and create with food- each has his own talent but still enjoy the beauty of the quilt and the stories many hold.

Happy 125 to you!
