Since she mentioned that the last few things have not been my usually wonky and willy nilly bright work that she enjoys, these were perfect. This will be a nice lap or couch quilt as it is right now. It would look great in a room done in neutral colors. Hmmm....maybe I should add black borders to it-what do you think?

So, what do you think?

Dark looks good around it but I would use a dark purple or dark green before I would use black.
"Pieces that I have been piecing just because I have pieces" - LOVE that line! I have some of those - Squirrel!! - ;)) Oh, and I think that it looks good with the black - my personal opinion - ;))
I like the open-ness of no border but if you choose to use a border I would
Make each side a different width and not use black but a bright; maybe different colors on different sides.
PIP, love that terminology! My opinion, do a dark border such as purple, green, blue or black.
Oh, I'm delighted that I inspired you to get wonky and willy nilly! I absolutely love it!! Borders? It would look great with or without them, but I'm with Wanda, a darker color of one of those used in the quilt, not black. I have tried to do something like this with pieces I have, just because I have them, but can't seem to grasp the willy-nilly-ness of it. The closest I can come is string blocks, which I love making. It would look great in any room, not just one with neutrals. After all, it has absolutely every color in it to match! Yay!
I wouldn't choose black but another color. Great job!
I think you may have a "Gees Bend-y" gene or two, Gene. Gosh, that's a lot of "Gees"!
Either one of your darks or black is fine since it is your last name too. Something frame it all that willy nilly bright goodness. Having fun?
That is going to be a fun finish, Gene. While I like a border, black may calm down the fun a little too much...don't contain it :)
I love this! It feels very Saori.
I think a solid dark colour for a border would help to contain the crazy, giving the piece an anchored cohesiveness. Not sure that I am explaining clearly what I am feeling with this? The randomness needs a binder, perhaps?
