During a break on the quilt I am working on....okay actually I couldn't find the other part of the quilt that needs quilting....but I found another project that was resting and getting ready to speak to me.
I listened - I think magic happened.
At this point, it goes back on the shelf to mature a little bit more. But I can hardly wait to see the final outcome of this piece. You may remember it from this part back in May of this year.
Yes it is taking its time to become - much like we do in our lives. But don't look at this and say "I could never do that kind of quilting!" You can. It takes time and practice and maybe some great instruction.
First you need to learn some Free Motion Quilting Essentials. And then you can move on to learning to do some Wild Quilting.
Don't limit yourself with doubt and negativity. Just say, "Yes, I can." and start the journey.

Lovely, Gene!
"Yes, I can." - but not nearly as well as you can. Thanks for the inspiration, Gene - your work is amazing - ;))
Very nice observation about how life's madness can be interrupted with magic. I agree with positive thinking that "I can...". However, do I want to is another question. U,, think I'll leave the FMQ to the King!
Your free motion quilting is lovely Gene. I'm sure with years of practice and no other hobbies consuming my time I "could" do it. Problem is I don't have the patience for the years of practice and I DO have many other hobbies!
Wonderful quilting, Gene - aren't Christina's classes fabulous?!?!?!? I'm signed up for several of her classes at QuiltCon in Savannah in February - I can't wait!!
You do great work, Gene.
Yes I can! And you are so right - it usually just takes some practice and belief in yourself. I'm loving your work on this so far. You mention in another post perhaps doing some painting on this - will you paint on the dark, or only on the white? Can't wait to see the results.
