Twisting To the Side

After making the last set of blocks,  I realized that the strip blocks are not the best thing to use for the freeform curve blocks.  I pulled out some more fabrics and added to the pile. I had some hand-dyed fabrics that have been in my stash a long time.  A lavender/purple and a green called to me. So I used those to mix with one simple block made of strips.  Oops!  Only using three "fabrics" meant that I got three blocks. So some more of the purple and green fabric made a fourth block to go with it.
These work like Drunkard's Path blocks.  You can rotate them in so may directions and combinations that it is difficult to make a decision.  Plus, I took the piece from the last post and added it to really confuse the issue.  I put it in three layouts.  One of these I really like.
#1

#2

#3

I probably tried more layouts,  but you can futz with those forever.  I made a discovery as I was taking the photos.  I use my phone for most photos. The discovery is that seeing the design smaller (condensed to a thumbnail size) really helps me to make design decisions.

So now, I ask you - Which of the three do you like?

I also pulled out four fabrics - because that is the way it was demonstrated. (Ha ha) With those four fabrics, I made four more blocks.  I suspect they will be a different project.  Here are those layouts.

#3

Lets call these "the OTHER" blocks - which layout do you like for these blocks?

Oh this is hard to decide. I think for the first set, I like #1 and for the 'other blocks' #3 appeals to me.

Oh - how fun!! In the first set - I like #3. In the "other" blocks - I like #2 best - but #3 would make a nice "bulls-eye" top - ;))

I like the whimsy of #2. Nice fabric and work.

All so interesting and great! I'd have a hard time choosing a favorite (after getting over being a bit dizzy, of course).

#1 and #3 have some symmetry - #2 is all on it's own ... it's hard to decide!! Depends on what you are going for!
Now tell us which one you like! :-)

For the first set, #2 - I like the way the patches relate; for the second #1 - I like the motion in it.
