Yesterday I had more than a few minutes. So I did a fun thing with the back section of the book. Using PVA glue, I created a section and glued the edges together. Then I cut a niche in that section - and glued those edges also.
I still need to clean up the cut edges. Nothing like a photo so show up the flaws.
After those edges are cleaned up, I will paint, or maybe cover the area with fabric.
Then I need to find something to put in that niche.
Here are some other pages in the book I have altered.
This was a nice blank page to work on.
Painted paper with a face collaged onto it.
My hands traced and echoed
Just fun mixes of color
A face on an old piece of music, and a luscious yellow/orange field of color
Fun with color and images.
You may recognize that right hand page - I decided it was too busy and added the apple
image to calm it down a bit.
Until Next Time,
Stay Creative

Wow... greatful painting for FFO. I admire your artworks.
...Gene, you sure are a multifaceted and multitalented fellow!!!
It looks like you're having fun working with this altered book, as you care for your Mom. Art is not just a creative outlet, but also therapeutic and meditative. Happy FFO, my friend!
This book is amazing Gene. I think it's a smart idea to have something Arty for those few free minutes because I bet it helps restore your energy. I can't wait to see what goes into the niche. Have a great Friday and weekend ahead.
So colorful and a full view of such an active imagination! The apple would not be the same without the bite. ☺️
Lovely art Gene!
Gene, I'm so impressed with this. I've never made an altered book before. I love how your placement on each page draws the eye. You were right to put the apples in. So easy on the eyes. I do like the echo hands too. You are such a clever artist. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a very nice weekend.
Your niche is certainly nearly finished. When I taught an altered book class a few years ago, that was the hardest thing for the students to create. Some opted to not make one. Love your other colorful art, too. What a great face. Happy Friday Face Off. BTW, I've covered my niches with both fabric and scrapbook style paper.
Oh, that looks like you are having a grand time! I see so many of my mistakes only after I see the photos!
Glad you have a creative outlet that will work within your caregiver duties. Those pages look like a lot of fun.
I love the hand page.
