I have a quilt that needs finished so I can send it off. I have one third fully quilted and trimmed - ready to join. The second third is almost finished - but I ran out of bobbin thread again. So I took a break to take pictures and post this.
I am doing a lot of this with my go-to swirls.
But I am adding some "straight lines" in there for contrast in the quilting. Plus it is fun and good practice.
The triangles in this I am attempting to fill with various straight line patterns.
Okay, sot they are "not so straight," but it adds a contrast to the swirls and will hopefully make someone who gets it smile a bit.
Okay, that mean old boss is saying "Break is over! Get back to it!" I suppose I should listen. I can finish this third of the quilt today if I do.
See you soon, I hope.

Can't have a mean old boss when retired! You are the king of FMQ, great work!
Wow, the quilting is looking great. Filling in spaces really brings out the overall effect! Two thumbs up!
I am interested. Which is a compliment to both your work and your blog. I like that the straight lines are not straight. And I like that it's ok. Thanks for continuing to blog.
I love the term "fun motion quilting" - because that's what it should be! Yours is beautiful, Gene - lots of variety and texture!
Looks like you are having a lot of fun. I love your free motion you are really taking charge and learning how to master the free motion. Frustrating when the thread runs out or breaks....too bad there is not an endless bobbin.
Great job!! And it's coming out great because you are having fun!
