More dyeing - and planning for yet more.

I hope you are not getting tired of seeing my adventures in dyeing.  The Craftsy Class "The Art of Cloth Dyeing" really has me inspired to dye more fabric.

Stitch Resist Shibori

The above piece is done with a stitch resist method.  Rows of hand made running stitches are done with a strong thread that is then used to tightly gather the fabric.  The ends are tied to keep the gathers compressed.  The dye for this was a mixture of red and turquoise.  What happened is what I was hoping to happen.  The color separated and the turquoise got into the resisted areas to color them.
The darker sections (bottom and center) were created by some black dye powder that I put on the cloth after it was in the dye bath.
The stitch resist is one that I will be repeating a few times.  It is extra work, but it makes a fun design on the fabric.  In fact  I have one stitched up and ready for the next dyeing session.

I have used bits of yarn at the ends that are tied. It is a trick I saw on a youtube video.

It is great fun to alter the folding patterns and see what happens.
