Gallery Delivery Day

Today, Saturday, is the day I deliver my work to the Mountain Valley Arts Council Gallery for the April Exhibit.
On Friday evening, I spent quite a bit of time carefully packing paintings, art quilts, and woven goods into the trunk and backseat of my car.

In the backseat are eleven dressed torso mannequins.
Fortunately the backs of the mannequins are hollow so they stack nicely.
Even with that the back seat of my car was fully occupied with them.

In the trunk were a multitude of paintings and art quilts.
The quilt on the left is being used for padding to protect frames and glass.

The delivery is complete and the gallery manager will begin hanging the show today.  I will return later in the day to do some draping on the mannequins to best show the handwoven clothing.

The exhibit will run for most of the month of April.  The show opens on Wednesday, April 5th.  On Thursday, April 6th, from 5p.m. until 7p.m. there will be an opening reception to which everyone is invited.
The exhibit will close on Friday April 28th.

The MVAC Gallery is located at 300 Gunter Ave. Guntersville, AL.  Below is an interactive Google map showing the location.

No chance of being there but...would if I could! Gene, this is a great exhibit, long is good, and I'm betting your work sells. I love the photo of the torso mannequins, kind of like a horror movie! Lol.

Stacked torsos.....glad CSI did not inspect your back seat! Just the packing and hauling is a lot of work, and I am sure the showing will be wonderful.

Oh I do hope the gallery will let you photograph the display. There is no way I am able to visit, but I certainly would if I could.

That will be a huge disappoint for those who are too far away to attend the show if they do not allow photos. Fingers crossed it won't be a problem.
