I have been saving the fortunes from my fortune cookies - well some of them. I like to add them to a page for content. I thought this one was perfect for the inside cover of one book.
It says "You are loved. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
The image is one of my AI creations that I printed and collaged on the inside cover.
The facing page is just covered with tinted gesso right now. I will certainly be adding something.
Here are two more pages that I gessoed while I was using the gesso.
I really like using the gesso with a few drops of paint to make an interesting background.
Here is one that has been done for a while but I don't think I have shown it.
The quote or something similar is attributed to Picasso. I thought that was appropriate for my hand stamp - too many fingers, a subtle nod to Picasso. A friend mentioned that the facing page looks a bit like a face. Do you see that?Next is a two page spread with gessoed background and ATCs as the content.
I confess that I had to go back and relearn how to draw the central design on the upper left card.
Now I had drawn many variations on that which will surely turn up in a later post.
Finally here is a wish for you in the fortune.
Until Next Time,
Stay Creative

That is a great fortune, and I love that picture you put with it. Wouldn't it be cool if the sky looked like that? Hope you have a great rest of your weekend and week ahead Gene.
Yes, I see the face and love the Picasso-hand and oh, I hope the last quote comes true!!!
I never tried gesso... Have a great Sunday.
I see the face, bravi
Luv your art and good fortune wishes
Happy Sunday, Gene
Thanks for dropping by my blog
Much love
I love that inside cover for your book. And the "fortune" is perfect! The picture you painted really draws you into it!
...you sure are having fun with color.
Yes, I see a face...facing the opposite page. The fortunes are a nice touch, Gene.
I do see the face. The AI image in the first picture reminds me of a painting by Caspar David Friedrich. I do like to use gesso with a few drops of paint as well - I should actually do that more often.
Yes, I too see a face.
Lovely colourful art you've shared.
All the best Jan
