Lucky, lucky boy! And more......

I am the lucky lucky boy It seems I was one of the lucky ones to win a prize at Soggy Bottom Flats blog. When I first saw her post it only said "Huge Moda Giveaway" Well sir, (and ladies) that certainly got my attention. I entered. (and I do apologize, cause I forgot to tell all you lovelies about it) (hey were did I pick up that British accent? more on that later, if I remember.)

Later she posted that the prizes were going to be 1. A Moda Jelly cake, 2. Bananafana and Pink Fig patterns 3. Some "to dye for" batik half yard cuts. Wheee...now I am more excited.

So when she posted the winners..and I saw MY NAME, I did a happy dance. The lovely prize arrived today.

Yes, a Tranquility jelly cake by Moda. Mmmmmmm..good enough to eat..but no..better to sew with.

Now about that "British accent:" Last night a friend posted a link to Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent. The link will take you to the YouTube video. If you don't have tears in your eyes when it is over, you are tougher than I am.
I was as shocked when she started singing as Simon was. (I am ashamed of that, I try to not pre-judge anyone, but sometimes that human nature takes over.) Anyway, I have watched it LOTS of times by now. And when I hear a British accent and turn of phrase, it seems to switch on something in my brain. My one trip to England, many years ago, was a true joy. I wish Miss Boyle lots of success. She deserves it. And I thank her for the music.

Miss Boyle's musical talent is WONDERFUL...I saw her interviewed on the CBS morning news show today. AND......don't give us this business of "I forgot to tell you about a Moda giveaway I discovered". You did that on PURPOSE, you meanie!!! You figured if you didn't tell us, then YOU would have a better chance of winning!!! We will get revenge...somehow...someday!!! LOL

I have watched the Youtube of Susan Boyle about 10 times now, and will watch it even more. Shivers, tears, smiles. What an inspirational story! And what a voice. Celine Dion, eat your heart out. You might be pretty, but this one has got the voice. I'm sure the make up artists will get hold of her, but I believe the small town Scot in her will survive. My new life started at 48, and it looks like Susan's will, too.

Lucky you! I look forward to seeing what you come up with using them! 8-)
I bought that Moda Tranquility in a couple of charm packs! My only problem now is, the shop I bought them from doesn't have it in yardages... My blocks are on the display wall, waiting to be put together, and I am disappointed I can't find any yardages around for boarders/binding anywhere around here...
Oh that Susan Boyle is brilliant isn't she!!! She has been on the news here for the last couple of days... 8-)

Congratulations on your win, wow, what a great prize!

Came over here from Qubie, and thrilled to know you have a thing for a British accent, I'll try and visit more often to oblige hehe (had great fun with it when I visited the States a couple of years ago!)

If you get to catch up with Britians got talent this week, look out for 12 yr old Shahin!

I hardly watch any TV but I do watch Britains got Talent. Susan Boyle WAS amazing. Never judge a book by it's cover eh? Where did you visit in Engand ? We have loads of different accents varying by region.
