My fabric room has been a big mess. I keep scraps of fabric from everything. When I first started quilting, I even bought a couple of bags of scraps - and I still have some of those! My scraps have been in bags and boxes and were totally disorganized and thus underused. I decided to see if I could organize them. What a chore!

And Why "Y"
I did try something with a few scraps- I sewed a Y-seam (aka "the dreaded y-seam) What I found is that it isn't as hard as some folks think. I read how in Victoria Findlay Wolfe's book, "15 Minutes of Play." (Link goes to Amazon - not an affiliate link) She also has a video on her tutorials page -which I confess I haven't watched. Just scroll down and look for "Y Seams"

Wow, you are really organizing! My scraps are in a pile in a bin. That's as far as it goes...maybe I should give those away too. But no one would want them. Lol.
You always come up with good ideas!I have been busy cleaning up and putting away in sewing room to get ready for new quilt machine that I am sorta overwhelmed by but I am determined to conquer! Have a great day and keep up the good work! Hugs, Marie
It is a chore but so worth the effort to remind yourself just what is hiding in those bags and such. It will be good to pull from in coming projects. I know on previous trips back to visit my folks, I spent 5 days working my way through her collections. Depending on the size of the scrap, I cut pieces she was using at the time like say, 3 1/2 inch squares, bricks of various sizes and certain sized strips. When I was home THIS time, I could have done it again for her but she was on the hunt for stuff that could be used by a friend doing a hexie quilt.
