You may remember this picture of the fabric I wove to make a vest. There are bits of quilting fabric making some of the colored lines in the fabric. It is added while weaving as an "inclusion." When I did this I just used what was in my threadcatcher - which normally gets dumped into the trash.
As I was trimming some hand dyed fabrics the lightbulb went on. "I can save these trimmings for use as inclusions." So I started saving them.

excellent idea Gene, why didn't I think of that too-lol and sari fabric is popular right now too in weavings-so this is just a perfect way to use up cloth scraps-love it
What a cool way to use up those bits of fabric and yarn. And it all adds to to the beauty of your weaving.
Love it!
Very clever. These bits will add interest to future projects and nothing goes to waste!
You are such a saver. Good for the environment.
While learning to weave on a loom like yours last year I incorporated fabric strips an inch and a half wide, cuz that's what I had on hand, and cut them a bit over-wide so they hung out the sides a bit. I used them in several areas on the seven foot long piece.
You're doing great work, I love it; thanks for sharing.
Here's a link to the post with a picture of the largest of the sections mentioned in my comment above.

The strips lend an interesting element to any piece; it helped relieve what i thought was becoming a boring piece !~!
Wow! That is an incredible way to use even the tiniest bits of stuff! Makes the woven piece really interesting, too!
One more thing to collect....but sometimes we just need them...great use of scraps
You know, ever since you started weaving fabric into your pieces I've been thinking of saving some of my favorite scraps for the some-day-whenever that I want you to make me a scarf :)
