Free Motion Quilting

This is my first try at using the instructions for the free motion quilt along on a "real" quilt.
This part did really well.  My "dna" lines twist together well.  My deep wavy lines are pretty regular.

I got a little wild on this part. (sigh) Maybe it was too late when I did it.

Notice the "barely wavy" line?  It almost went straight here.  Ha ha.  No fears though.  This is a learning experience.

Most people learn on a piece of muslin...You are really brave to do it on a quilt...LOL

More like a learning "curve" -- tee hee. Yes, it does look great! One question, do you use gloves?

Hey, looks good for just starting out!
I am spoiled with my Granni's machine....so I'm super impressed with anyone that does it on their machine! You're going to be professional grade before long :)

Gene--that looks better than mine but hey it was my first try. Today I'm starting the first lesson on the practice quilt. I did find I do better on fabric than on paper.

It is a learning process and somehow we all expect we can just "do it" but when we were kids we didn't get our first box of crayons and start making art....we scribbled first :)

Keep up the practice....I find it to be a great stress reducer.

Smiles,
Kelly

Glad you took the leap! Like everything else, it's all about practice AND relaxing your shoulders!! Have fun with it - you're off to a great start :)

Really good Gene. It's fun isn't it? Every time I put a quilt on machine I'am still practicing too. I believe we learn with everything we do.

Happy Quilting!
