Before anyone asks ---

I am still alive, I am doing well.  What I am not doing is sewing. (((sigh)))  Dad's doctor discovered an aneurysm in his abdomen. We got it seen about by a specialist who said surgery was the best option. Last week was spent largely in waiting rooms at a wonderful hospital - UAB in Birmingham Alabama.
Since I don't do much hand work, no sewing got done.  I am behind on Christmas presents that I was going to sew.  I just may have to be creative and give some of the items I had left from the sale in November (that I haven't gotten around to posting on Etsy --sigh again)

EDITED to add: Surgery was successful and Dad is now home resting and recovering.

Yesterday I changed cell phone companies and now I have a cool toy - the Motorola Droid X. By a special promotion, I got it free.  I will now be a little better "connected" I think.  Ha ha...but I played with it yesterday and didn't sew again.

Gene, I am sure that anyone on your list will be more than happy to take a rain check in exchange for your dad getting better and you being by his side when he needed you!

Wonderful news about your Dad!!!

Hope you enjoy the new D-R-OOOOOIIIIIII-D! I have a "talk and text" cell phone and have thus far resisted a new "smart phone". You say you got it for nothing? Hmmmm...my resistance is dwindling, unless the additional monthly service fees are a drawback. I'm with Verizon, but my contract has expired.
Which company are you with?

I'm so glad to hear your Dad's surgery went well. Maybe you can give an IOU for January for those Christmas presents you don't have time to sew.

I'm glad Dad is doing well and happy you got a new toy. You know me, though....a Trac Phone and don't even turn it on unless I need to make a call (so no incoming calls on it)......just like your mom, right? :)

As for toys.....let me know how you like your new phone......I'm thinking of upgrading to something but there are so many to choose from....

Nice phone, I must upgrade one day,but will get around to it when I am in the big smoke again...after Christmas, I hate crowds!
Glad that your Dad is recovering well, and its good the doctors picked it up before it ruptured. I've seen that happen years ago, and it isn't nice.
