Another Fabric Design
I decided to use one of my small drawings to convert into fabric. This one is made from an Artist Trading Card (ATC) which is two and a half inches by three and a half inches. I may make some color modifications to this. I am thinking of buying some of the printable fabric sheets so I can make several of my designs into fabrics to use in something. Getting fabric printed, unless you work with a fabric company as a designer, is really expensive. So I figure if I can do it myself to see if I like it, then maybe I can justify the expense.

I would love to hear how that works out!! I love your design!! I had two of my designs done on Spoonflower- but it IS expensive, especially if you want alot of yardage to sell - I just had fat quarters done-it is just not cost effective. They do a wonderful job tho.
Hi cool work. If your doing alot of the printables when I was away in Jan. one of the quilt shop told me about this product that you can make your own printanle fabric and its a lot cheaper. If you want the info I will have to find the bottle to tell you more about it. I ahve not used it yet but I plan to in the winter. So if you want more info email me.
That design in itself would make a cool quilt. I'd call it 'acid trip' or 'mmmmm special brownies'. Nice work Gene.
I was thinking along the lines of Greg.....that fabric looks like a quilt ALREADY......great design and wonderful colors!
Gene, that is totally awesome....I can not say enough about your fabric designs...I say do it!!! There is this bubble stuff you can buy to soak your own 100% cotton fabric in and then there is a wash you can get to set the dyes from the computer. You just cut your fabric in 8" x 11 1/2" and iron to wax paper and it will go through the computer....awsome Gene....I would buy that fabric right now...
Gene, I am sorry, i am back...can't you go to a fabric designer yourself???? Like Kaufman? Kona? maybe that will take some of the sting out of the cost?
I really like this one, the colors are wonderful. Isn't it amazing how something so small can change into something so different when you multiply it. Just like a quilt.

This is my favorite of all your fabric designs. I would like to see an entire collection from this design. I would purchase your fabric to make quilts. I think you would make a wonderful fabric designer. Go for it!
