What is this quilt block called? I searched the internet and couldn't find it. I know it has a name. Now, could you make by stitching only five seams? I was playing around on paper and came up with a method to do this. If there is enough interest, I will post a tutorial on it.

I believe this is Puss in the Corner.
The tutorial sounds interesting.
Checked the 5,500 bible of quilt block designs and I got Sheep fold Quilt block for Kansas City Star, or one of the two blocks to make a Irish Chain.Probably many names out there for it, Sharon.
I think I have it figured out but i don't know the name....
You are tempting me to spend more time on the computer, and I'm determined to get to the sewing room.
yes...we need the tutorial, Gene!!! (Anything to find out how to sew fewer seams!!! LOL)
Variation on a Nine Patch? You could probably find it in Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Quilt Blocks. I check it out from the library so much that it is here more than there. :-)
Go with what 'limpingalong' said. It is indeed Puss in the Corner, a variation on a Nine Patch block. I did a whole quilt using this block. And I put cat fabrics in all the corners.
I want the tutorial. Did you see the tutorial on ps i quilt today? it's great, however you might already know it.
Definitely a nine patch variation.
In my Quilt Book it's called City Block.
In my Block Guide, it's called a Variation 9-Patch. :) Seems like there is quite a variation of names out there.
