My First Quilt-making Video

I know a number of my readers are Fans of AccuQuilt on FaceBook and have already seen my demo/instructional video for cutting chisel shapes on the GO! cutter.  However, some of you haven't seen it, and I want to share it with ALL of you. This video also shows a quilt block I designed using the chisel shape AND a triangle shape.
Plus you will also get to hear me talk. (some folks actually think I have an accent! can you believe that???) AND you will get to see the backdrop which is my Japanese lantern quilt. This is my first ever instructional video. I did it without a script and in one take. So, I am sure there are some errors.  But you should know that Ricky Tims said nice things about it.  (yeah, I mentioned him in the video!)

I must say, it was a learning experience. I hope you learn something too. Enjoy!

Gene....YOU SO TOTALLY ROCK!!! Oh my word you really can do a great video. I'm so green with envy. I love your video and the only thing Ricky Tims has on you as far as video taping is a wee bit more practice :) Oh yeah, and those professionals working with him.

I'm grinning ear to ear!!! Way to GO!

Smiles,
Kelly

Excellent Video. and thanks for your insights on how you made this video. I have always liked this block. Have actually made quilts with this block via the old fashioned way. Now, I can't wait to make a quilt using your insights and AccuQuilt. Way Cool.

Thanks Gene. I'm so happy AccuQuilt gave you a GO! and you were brought into the modern world of quilting!

I loved your video and yes....you DO have an accent (at least to my "northern" ear)!!! I want to try doing the stars this way, too.

Great! A celebrity is born! I didn't realize you had the Accuquilt cutter yet, but here you are already a pro! Hey, if Ricky Tims gave you a thumbs up, you are in! I've been stitching his Kaleidoscope quilt and I'm worried that he may contact me and politely ask me to remove any reference to him, after he sees my efforts! ;-) Does this chisel piece have the right angle to make braided strips...? Might be another fun option. Borders perhaps. Lots of potential here! Happy cutting and stitching! Great job!

You look and sound like a natural. A few additional observations -- very intersting design wall (your shirt, that is ;), and the backdrop for the entire presentation is magnificent! Those lanterns were meant to be on stage. One more thing - I really love this block in the fabrics you chose. Looking forward to the finished project. The colors are very nice!

Hey Gene, that was wonderful! I have the "GO" and have only used it for cutting 3" strips. Have a few of the die cuts but do not have the CHISEL POINTS. I think I will call Accu-Go and tell them why I want to order them and direct them here.
Hope it helps,
Frummie
