Life Gets in the Way

Some of my close blog friends know the reason  that I have been "missing" for a few days.  So I thought I would let the rest of you know also.  My Dad was diagnosed with an abdominal aneurysm just before Thanksgiving. We have been working on getting him seen and treated. Yesterday was a long day, sitting at a major medical clinic to get tests and see the specialist.  Dad is scheduled for surgery next week.  My online time will still be limited for a bit. I hope to get the 500 post giveaway started this weekend, assuming I get time to breathe for that long.  (I do put thought into it.)
If I don't respond to your blog posts, know that I was just too busy, and I am truly sorry.
Meanwhile, here is a painting I did a while back for you to see:

It's hard going through this with a loved one, but I just know your Dad will be fine. My Dad is now 93 and had this done about 15 years go after dragging his feet because he didn't want another surgery (after 2 bypasses, carotid artery, and numerous others), there was another procedure he found online that he thought would be less invasive, he was too old to go through it, and the list of excuses to delay aneurysm repair went on and on. In the end after much family persuasion, he did go through it, and is still with us today! Prayers for your Dad.

Please know we will pray for your Dad. It is very stressful when a loved one is ill, especially if they need surgery. Gene the painting is absolutely beautiful, so peaceful, so calm and oh so talented Gene!!!

Hey Gene, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. How scary! You all will be in my prayers as well. And if I were you I would not worry too much about the blogging. The internet will still be here, and so will your readers. :)
The painting is beautiful! We don't get to see anything like that around here, so I am soaking it in.
Best wishes!

I'm sorry about your Dad, Gene. I know how difficult it is to go through a major illness with a father. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts - especially that you will have the strength you need to help your Dad get through this.

I loved this painting - especially because this is the first year we won't cut our own tree - we may even have a fake one!! It's a beautiful picture - thanks for sharing it with us.

You know I'm praying for positive results from your dad's surgery. AND....I love that painting. I think that is a painting done with me in mind as you know I am not an "abstract" kind of gal....LOL I'm thinking this is now my new favorite painting of yours!!! (I especially love that little church being in the painting.)

Ahhh, Gene. I am sorry to hear that. It is good that he was diagnosed, though. They so often go unknown until it is too late. Best wishes for you and dad!

Just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Your painting is so serene...you should take it and put it on the nightstand beside your father so he can gaze at it as he recovers. I'm sure it will soothe his soul. Best of luck to you.

Gene, Prayers to your father and your family from Washington DC. Thank you for sharing your painting on this post. I imagine a lot of prayers being said in that chapel as it's warm light spills out from its windows!
