Today is Special

Today is a special day to me.  It is also just a bit sad.
My sister had a short life.  She was in a medical accident almost 30 years ago.
Today is her birthday and I am choosing to honor her life today.
Here are a few pictures:
School Picture

Charlotte and me in front of a car after a hail storm

An early picture of Charlotte

She grew into a lovely young woman

Soon after giving birth (I don't know which
baby this is)
She would have been 57 today.  She was my sister, my protector and my friend.  I miss her laugh, her sharp wit and her loving ways.
Rest in Peace my darling Charlotte. Your children have grown into amazingly wonderful adults that you would be so proud of.
Forgive me if I don't reply to comments. Sometimes the memories overwhelm me tear ducts.

Edit:  Beaquilter asked what happened.  Even though this occurred in Alabama, it made national news. Here is a link to the New York Times Article.

so sorry to hear about this, but now I'm getting curious about a medical accident? something she did or a dr/hospital?

What a tragic accident! So sorry about your loss. She was so young. God knows the pain we carry in our hearts. Although time may heal the wound there is always the scar as a reminder. Praying peace for you and your family today.

Enjoy the memories. I believe you will see her again someday; at least that's what I tell myself when the missing of loved ones feels too great to bear. What beautiful words you shared about someone who was surely a beautiful person.

It is wonderful that you honor your sister with this post. I can't imagine how rough this was for you and her family at the time and now with some distance, I'm sure, the pain is still there but the love you still feel shines through it. Having lost my little brother at age 32 from a life long illness, I know the photos and memories are precious. I'm babbling a bit but it's from the heart. Take care my friend.

How horribly tragic! What a beautiful young woman she was! I'm so glad her children have an uncle like you to love them and tell them about their mother!

So horrible to loose someone so young. I know all too well about that but what a nice tribute to her. I know she will always be in your heart.
