Barb's Button Winners -And some news

My friend Barb had a button giveaway.  To be super fair, she asked me to draw the winners. I told her that I would be more than happy to assist as I was not entering.  This way her family could enter if they wished also.  I thought that was a great idea.  I didn't look to see who won, instead I sent the numbers to Barb. I sent a couple of extras in case someone was a "no-reply."   There were a couple of non-bloggers, but I suppose Barb has email addresses for them.
Here are the numbers drawn, along with the winners.
103  Sandra (no blog)
89 Flo@Butterfly Quilting   (butterflyquilting.blogspot.com)
79 Andrea   Knit A Weigh (knitaweigh.blogspot.com)
151 Kathleen C  - Village Quilter
14 Sharon (non blogger)
9 Sandie-call me crazy  (crazyboutquilts.blogspot.com)
56 Just Cindy  (justaboutcindy.blogspot.com)
109 Barb - A corgi to quilt By  (corgitoquiltby.blogspot.com)
1 Quilter in the Gap (gapquilter.blogspot.com)
50 Stray Stitches (straystitches1.blogspot.com)

Say Congrats to the winners!  Winners, contact Barb, or maybe she will contact you, but she will need a mailing address.
Enjoy  your buttons.

In Other News:
I am excited to tell you that I am a featured quilter on the Oranje Quilters Guild blog.  The lady who runs the blog has been so nice.  They are in Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa.  I confess I had never even heard of Bloemfontein (and I certainly can't pronounce it!)
So go over and say "Hello" to our fellow quilters in South Africa.
Peace to you,

Thanks Gene!! You are a great number chooser~ lol I was going to say 'number picker' but that just didn't sound right. :-)) Congrat's on your feature!

why in the world would you pick numbers for her, and why would she ask you to? it's not like we all even know who her family is, or even care if they win......seriously? this beats all i've ever seen....sorry, but i'm in a mood this evening, and couldn't hold back....

Gene...congrats on being a featured quilter on the South African guild's blog. Congrats to the button winners, too, but I do have to say I am with Tonya on this one. I'm not quite sure why Barb couldn't pick her own winners using the easy-to-use online number generator (or by asking her hubby to spout off 10 numbers to her). Most every blogger has had giveaways...and we've all found methods to randomly pick our own winners...so this seems so funny that it's nearly ridiculous!

I am really sorry Tonya and Pat that you think it is ridiculous, I dont even thing it effects you, this is something Gene and I worked out so if one of my sisters or nieces names were pulled then it would be fair. I am sorry you feel this way. It was all in fun.

Well I think it was a nice system you all worked out. Would have been nice if you would have picked me...but I will still follow your blog and not hold it against you!

Barb, and Gene I think this was a brilliant way to pick numbers when the lines are, or could be considered "grey". Good for you Barb for doing what you felt you needed to to maintain your integrity!
Congratulations to all winners those buttons are adorable!

I'm with Barb. It's Barb's giveaway and her choice as to who picks the winner! Who knows, for the next giveaway, Barb will ask me to pick the winners :) ...but then I don't get to put my name in...lol

Congrats to the winners. I don't care how you pick the numbers, get the dog to pick one if you like, but next time PICK MINE!!!!!! Hugs Linda.

Loved reading your guest blog, Gene! Wonderful! It's amazing how small the world gets here on the internets!
Button button, who's got the button? Congratulations to all of the, very honestly chosen winners. As far as the kerfuffle over the selection process, do you know what I've always heard? Opinions are like a certain part of our anatomy. Everybody's got one! ;)

Congrats! to the winners...but I didn't see my name among them..drats! I think that was a great idea for you to choose the numbers and both you and BARB got some good PR from her Giveaway.

Jeez!..pass the "happy pills" to those two. My Mother always taught me "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all". mmmmh??

You guys are absolutely awesome for teaming up together! That is what the world needs more of--people working together and being a team; as well as being team players! Great job Gene and Barb!

I feel that why regardless of winning--which I did! Thanks again!

Well Gene, thank you for picking the numbers for my sister. We were brought up to love one another and to be fair. So my hats go out to you and the winners.
