Trying a change

I am doing something a little different today. I have changed the way I am handling comments.  Your comments will post right away instead of waiting for moderation.  I do have word verification on.  (Sorry I find it slightly annoying but it at least slows down people who post only to advertise-not to comment on the blog.)

So give a comment and let me know what you think

Okay....here's a comment.......just wondering why you changed your method of handling comments. (I never had mine set for moderator approval...but figured you must have had a reason to do that.)

I didn't know you had a choice in how comments are handled!! I hate "captcha" - and am thinking of creating a new language out of it!! LOL So many people have it -I'll do it for you!!! :>)

No need to reply, Gene, just trying out your new mode of operation. I don't always reply either unless I really have something to say, so don't feel obligated to reply. If word verification really bothers you, try going without it for awhile. If you have a problem, you can always turn it back on. I've never moderated comments or had word verification, and the good news is I've never had a comment that felt like it was advertising.

I switched, too, after a while. Moderating was just a pain!! I figure as the blog writer I have the power to delete comments I don't want, like advertisements. But I've never had a problem- we're nice folks out here in quilting blogland!!

Gene..just thought I'd let you know that I'm sneaking in to all the blogs about Bejeweled Barb's quilt giveaway and deleting your entries......LOL!

I like comment moderation so that I can 'vet' comments.. sometimes you can get the odd 'nasty' one or from undesirables (like 'call' girls advertising!)... but each to their own. I don't like word verification, it justs adds to the process, and does not block comments you don't want.

There was no word verification on mate.

You can always delete a comment that is spam. Sure it'll post but at least you can delete it. Youcan still have it set to email you when you have a new comment though so deleting unwanted comments should be pretty quick.

I've had my blog set likt this (with word verification) for over a year and have only had to delete 1 spam comment

I comment regardless of the process. :)
I love your background and header!

I think you can set your blog up any way you want it. I also love comments, and I try to leave lots.

I switched to word verification when I started getting spam comments and it works fine for me.
