Green Squares and a Contest

Someone asked what I am planning to do in the solid green squares on the quilt I am working on.  I do have a plan.  I have bought and downloaded some embroidery designs that are single run for quilting with the embroidery machine.   Today I (finally) did a test of it with a test quilt piece.  Look at this:

Isn't that great?   I will be doing some of these designs in the the green squares.  I am thinking purple thread on them.  What do you think?  Purple?  Or should I go with a bright red?

I just found out about a cool contest.  The post on the Riley Blake Blog  (click here) tells about it.  If you have  a quilt you have made with Riley Blake fabrics you can post a picture of it on their contest page and have a chance to win cool prizes including a Caribbean vacation. Yeah, I am in!

Lovely! Color? I'd go with whichever gives the most contrast. You want to show this as much as possible!

Great design, Gene. I like the idea of the bright purple thread. I've got lots of embroidery designs for quilting....mmmmh? I need to use them more.

I went to vote, but couldn't do it yet. Please give us a shout out when we can go vote for you.

Great embroidery pattern. I think I would use the purple. Red would make it look too much like Christmas - of course, that's just my puny little opinion - lol!

I have some of those patterns, too, that I have been "planning" to use. I vote for purple, too!

Isn't purple complimentary to green on the color wheel? (Maybe not...I'm not so good at that.) I'd think purple would look good, and red might say "Christmas" but..I'm sure whatever you do will be wonderful.

Hope the lump is nothing serious and you get it sorted soon.
Thinking of you.
